Thulium is a very rare rare-earth element whose main value lies in supplying a wider range of green spectral lines, but its price is higher than that of Lanthanum and Cerium.
Can be used as additives, catalysts for phosphorescent substances, electronic products, medical and dental diagnostic tools, high-temperature superconducting materials, added to paper money as a security mark (UV irradiation emits blue fluorescence), added to X-ray equipment as a source of radiation for nuclear reactions.
