3. Doped neodymium oxide yttrium aluminium garnet produces short-wave laser beams, which are widely used in industry for welding and cutting thin materials with a thickness of up to 10 mm.

4. In medicine, yttrium aluminium garnet lasers doped with neodymium oxide can be used instead of a scalpel for removing surgery or sterilizing wounds.

5. Neodymium oxide is also used to color glass and ceramic materials as well as rubber products and additives.
