Scandium

Scandium is scarce on Earth (but more abundant on both the Sun and the Moon), which makes it more valuable than gold, but it is mainly mined for industrial use. Scandium is very light and can be synthesized into high quality alloys with other elements such as aluminum, which can be used to make lightweight sports equipment and aircraft and other aerospace industry applications. Scandium can be used to make high-performance floodlights, and the color of bulbs made from Scandium and mercury vapor is similar to that of sunlight, which is often used for lighting stadiums and large sports arenas.
