New wear-resistant materials containing nano diamond powder

In 1992, Yashchenko and others in the United States used powder metallurgy to make a new type of anti-wear material, which is made by mixing copper-zinc and copper-tin powders with nano-diamond powder in a certain proportion by compaction, and then sintered in hydrogen gas. This new material can be used in internal combustion engine cylinder liner and other transmission machinery liner manufacturing, can also be used in the manufacture of sliding bearings, etc., because this new material contains a small friction coefficient, high thermal conductivity of nano-grade diamond powder powder, so it has a high resistance to scratches and wear resistance.

The metal repair agent made from nano diamond powder has been tested and determined to increase tensile strength by 71.98%, torsional strength by 19.75% and abrasion resistance by 154.82%.

There are reports abroad mentioning that nano diamond powder can be applied to organic silicon coatings on the fuselage, wing and hull surfaces of aircraft and ships, which can enhance the anticorrosive, antifreeze, temperature-resistant and aging-resistant properties of the coatings, and improve the elasticity, fracture strength and tear strength, etc., so as to increase the service life of the surface coatings by 1.5 to 2.0 times, and increase the cost by only 1% to 2%.
