DIA/CBN Grinding Wheel Dressing and Sharpening Methods

For proper use of diamond/CBN grinding wheels, shaping and sharpening are necessary during initial installation or when the surface of the wheel is deformed.

1. Mild steel grinding and shaping – sharpening method

Mark the periphery of the wheel with a grease pencil, allow the raw material such as S45C to make full contact with it (until the grease pencil mark disappears), and then grind normally until the peripheral pulsation disappears. In this method, the sharpening is done at the same time as the shaping, so it is possible to enter the formal operation in this state.
·Please use a speed of 1180m/min, which is slightly slower than the usual speed.
(Reference: Usually around 1700~2000m/min.)
·If the rotation speed cannot be reduced, try reducing the cut-in amount to about 1mm.
·The feed rate is 30 mm/min (30 millimeters per minute), which is nearly static and low-speed.

2.WA (White Corundum) or GC (Green Silicon Carbide) Oil Stone Grinding and Sharpening Method (For Surface Grinder)
